We were pleased to read the letter from Gaboreau Y et al. (1) related to our recent article (2). In this paper, in a population of elderly patients anticoagulated with warfarin for venous thromboembolism (VTE), we have applied available bleeding scores to evaluate their predictive ability for bleeding risk. As underlined in the study, our dataset lacked of some information, i.e. the presence of anemia. However, not all the evaluated scores consider anemia as a risk factor for bleeding, such as for the widely used HASBLED score (3). This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
